Dr. Douglas Brooks

Long Beach Dentist Dr. Douglas R. BrooksDr. Brooks attended UCLA 1973 -1977, where he received a B.A. in biology.
During his time at UCLA, he played Basketball for John Wooden 1973-1974.  Later that year 1974 -1977, he acquired a volleyball scholarship and played for Al Scates 1974-1977.  He was part of 3 NCAA National Title Teams while at UCLA:  1974, 1975. and 1976.  He is both a Volleyball player and an avid basketball fan and  loves discussing sports!

After graduating from UCLA, in 1977, Dr. Brooks attended University of California Davis.  In 1978,  he earned his Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Anatomy from the UC Davis Medical School. Dr. Brooks attended Northwestern Dental School in Chicago Illinois from 1978-1982 earning his Doctorate of Dental Science Degree. 

Dr. Brooks completed 1 year of General Practice Residency at the Long Beach Veteran’s Hospital 1982-1983.  He received advanced training in prosthodontics (dentures), periodontics (gum surgery), endodontics (root canals), surgical dentistry (emergency treatments), and oral cancer detection and diagnosis. Following his residency, Dr. Brooks opened his general and cosmetic dentistry practice. Douglas R. Brooks has proudly served patients and their families at his Bixby Knolls, California dental practice for 34 years.  

Dr. Brooks and his wife, a dental hygienist,  enjoy living in Long Beach in the community in which he serves.
